GS Battery Takes a Green Step Forward Through Solar Panel Implementation with EMITS & EPN
Jakarta – PT GS Battery continues to demonstrate its commitment to building a sustainable business through the implementation of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems at its two production facilities, the Karawang Plant and the Semarang Plant. This initiative is part of the company's ongoing efforts to increase the use of renewable energy while creating more efficient and environmentally friendly operations.

At the Karawang Plant, GS Battery collaborated with EMITS on the installation of a 3.6 MWp Solar PV system, which was officially re-energized in June 2026. Meanwhile, a similar project was implemented at the Semarang Plant in partnership with EPN, featuring a 1.27 MWp Solar PV system that was officially re-energized in May 2026. These two installations represent a strategic milestone in integrating renewable energy into the company's daily operations.
The utilization of solar energy at both plants is expected to improve energy efficiency while reducing carbon emissions generated from operational activities. Beyond enhancing operational efficiency, the implementation of Solar PV systems also reflects GS Battery's tangible contribution to accelerating Indonesia's transition toward clean energy.
This initiative aligns with the sustainability direction set by Astra Otoparts (AOP) and Astra International (AI), which continue to encourage all business entities within the group to adopt more sustainable operational practices.
