GS Battery continues to grow and currently produces more than 300 million battery units and has more than 2,000 employees. With the changes in market conditions, PT GS Battery always tries to innovate to satisfy every customer needs.
GS Battery is owned by three shareholders, namely PT Astra Otopart Tbk,
GS Yuasa Corp. & Toyota Tsusho Corporation. With a production capacity of more than 20 million units/year, GS Battery sells 3 types of products, which are automotive batteries, motorcycle batteries & non-automotive batteries, where these batteries are produced in two GS factories located in Karawang and Semarang.
GS Battery will continue to provide positive contribution for the development of Indonesia automotive industry.
First established on December 19th, 1972, GS Battery has developed to be one of the main player in the lead acid battery in Asia.
The name "GS" comes from the initials of the lead powder inventor, which is the raw material for batteries, namely "Genzo Shimadzu". He was the first person to conduct research on battery manufacturing in Japan.
